Beat-Route has become a household name in Jazz circles in KZN. The band has been gigging around Durban since 2004 featuring at countless Corporate Events, Private Functions and Weddings with an infectious, subtle and nuanced acoustic sound. The band performs as anything from a sophisticated instrumental Swing Jazz Quartet right up to a dynamic 6 piece band with some great arrangements of some classic tunes.
In the smaller format Beat-Route focuses on the traditional swing Jazz sound that has been their niche for many years, with a vast repertoire of Jazz standards, Bossa-novas and Afro Jazz with some loose originals and some swinging interpretations of some more modern material including Maroon5, Amy Winehouse, John Meyer, Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder (recently including some cool lounge grooves and acid jazz vibes). This sophisticated repertoire and our nuanced treatment and low-key sound ideally suiting the band to high-end corporate networking and cocktail type events.
The basic instrumental Quartet line-up features Trumpet / Flugelhorn, Guitar or piano, Up-right Bass and Drums. For bigger events with more pizazz we augment the band adding one of our gorgeous and dynamic vocalists and/or a sax player.

And also a huge thank you to you and the guys for playing nonstop without a break, making up for time as we had booked until about 7-ish and only required your services till 17h45.
